The 168 Film Festival is the crown jewel of our year. It is only for the films of the 168 Film Project. It's a glitzy, two-day red carpet affair featuring premieres from artists from around the world, vying for over 30 awards.

The 15th annual Festival is scheduled for Sat-Sun, Aug. 26-27, 2017 at the Regal Cinemas Premiere House at LA Live.  See Schedule here. Make plans to be in Los Angeles!

Saturday kicks off with the Kids Program, continues with a fantastic lineup of short film premieres, screenings from the new 168 OPEN category, and a surprise feature event in the evening.

Sunday's highlights include a unique worship experience in the morning, more screenings from outstanding artists around the world and the annual Red Carpet Walk. A panel discussion with leading faith & film experts provides afternoon interest. The gala awards ceremony caps the event, followed by the legendary 168 After Party.

168 Film Project

This is our signature speed filmmaking competition. Speed Film teams have 168 hours (7x24) to shoot and edit a short film based on a theme and a Bible verse (pre-production lasts 10 days). "Non-Speed" categories can begin much earlier. Tens of thousands of filmmakers have completed over 1,000 films since 2003. Speed films are produced over US Memorial Day Weekend (late May).

Write of Passage

In this annual October contest, writers have 168 hours to create a 12-page screenplay based on a scripture. WP uses “Development Executives,” who mentor writers and ultimately send the best work to the finals, to be judged by Hollywood professionals. Many of these great short stories are produced for the 168 Film Festival's Write of Passage Spotlight.
