ORLANDO, FLORIDA (May 7, 2017)— On Saturday, May 6, the International Christian Film Festival awarded Best Picture to “The Meanest Man in Texas,” starring Mateus Ward (Lab Rats) and Jamie McShane (Gone Girl).

Best Picture Runner Up (2nd Place) went to Unbridled, starring T.C. Stallings (War Room; Courageous) and Eric Roberts (Dark Knight; The Pope of Greenwich Village), and introducing, Tea McKay (Pass the Light, The Iceman). McKay is the 168 Film Festival 2016 Best Actress award winner.

Unbridled, produced by Christy McGlothlin and directed by John David Ware, is based on true life stories of teen girls, who were sex-trafficked, abused or struggling with unhealthy lifestyles.  “Unbridled lights a candle, focusing on redemption and healing,” said Ware.

The film also stars Jenn Gotzon (Frost/Nixon), Dey Young (Pretty Woman), David Topp (Beverly Hills Canine Country Club) and Rachel Hendrix (October Baby).

In the film, Sarah (Tea McKay) is a victim who is rescued from her mother’s (Dey Young) boyfriend, Roger (Eric Roberts). Sarah begins to heal in Unbridled Academy and learns to trust humans again by forming relationships with rescued horses. But Roger will stop at nothing to get her back.

Unbridled Director John David Ware, in accepting the Best Film Runner Up Award, stated, "I'm humbled and grateful for our amazing cast and crew, which enabled a hopeful portrait on the canvas of the fight against sexual slavery."

Jenn Gotzon, who played a character based on Joy Curry, the real life founder of Corral, had a big night at the festival, with a nomination for best actress for feature film Saving Faith, distributed by Lionsgate, and the best actress award for her role in Sacred Eternal, a new TV series expected to debut shortly on Uplift-TV, affiliated with Daystar Television.

David A.R. White won the lifetime achievement award for his excellence in pioneering faith-based films including God’s Not Dead.
