Write of Passage 2015 Jury Announced

The Write of Passage Screenwriting Competition is a one-week, mentored competition, which teaches writers as they compete.  Over 100 writers will practice their craft, Oct. 12-19.  We are pleased to announce the Write of Passage 2015 Jury.

Michael Warren
Michael Warren has written or produced over 800 episodes of prime time, network television.  He was Executive Story Consultant for six seasons on HAPPY DAYS with Ron Howard and Henry Winkler and Executive Producer of PERFECT STRANGERS with Bronson Pinchot (1986). During his fifteen years at Warner Brothers, he was the co-creator and Executive Producer of STEP BY STEP with Patrick Duffy and Suzanne Somers and FAMILY MATTERS with Jaleel White (Urkel). Michael was also Executive-producer of HANGIN WITH MR. COOPER and THE LOVE BOAT with Gavin MacLeod.

Dr. Stan Williams
Dr. Stan Williams is an award winning documentary filmmaker of four decades from Michigan, and author of "THE MORAL PREMISE: Harnessing Virtue and Vice for Box Office Success." He's a story and script doctor in Hollywood where he has worked with Will Smith on over a dozen projects. He's the presenter of the on-line VOD Storycraft Training series and he brainstorms with writers of all genres helping them apply the Natural Laws of story structure to emotionally connect with audiences.

Kelsey Scott
Kelsey Scott is an actor/writer/producer who has appeared in True Detective, Grey's Anatomy, House M.D., NCIS, and opposite Chiwetel Ejiofor as "Anne Northup" in Steve McQueen's Academy Award-winning 12 Years A Slave. She wrote the Sony Pictures thrillers Motives and Motives 2, starring Vivica A. Fox and Shemar Moore, and continues to pen scripts for a diverse group of producers. She recently wrote the book for a musical production, which played at Atlantic City's Tropicana Casino, and co-produced a live-action, original show in Los Angeles. Kelsey taught screenwriting at her alma mater, the Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts, and spearheaded the screenwriting curriculum at Golden West College in Huntington Beach. She currently provides script analysis services for producers, writers, directors and production companies.

Amanda Llewellyn
Amanda Llewellyn has been an actress, singer, dancer and make-up artist.  She currently produces with her husband, director/writer Wes Llewellyn (The Moment After I &II). She is the two-time winner of both the "Best Film" and "Best Screenplay" awards at the 168 Film Festival and three-time winner of the "Scriptural Integration" prize. She and Wes have produced the reenactment sections of 170 episodes of the TV show, "Sid Roth’s, It’s Supernatural,” (5.7 Million weekly viewers). She is currently developing several film and television projects. Wes and Amanda operate a downtown studio in Atlanta, Georgia.

Derrick Warfel
Derrick Warfel is an award winning writer-director-producer and CEO at Winter Star Productions.  He was a key development executive on "Captive" with David Oyelowo and Kate Mara (Paramount 2015). Currently he is co-producer on feature film "Laleh," shooting in the Middle East. He wrote directed and produced the feature thriller "Midnight Reckoning," an official selection at many film festivals. He has optioned and sold feature scripts and taught screenwriting and producing nationally and internationally, He is a former member of the Warner Brothers Writers Workshop, and a graduate of U.S.C. Film School (MFA), Dallas Theological Seminary ThM, and Princeton University A.B.
