168 Film relies on volunteers. Whether working in our Burbank office or at the 168 Film Festival ushering, taking tickets, helping VIP's backstage, or serving our movie-going public, you will love this job! You get to take part in the great excitement of the red carpet celebrity arrivals, silver screen premieres and meeting fascinating filmmakers from around the world.  There are even places for those with "industry" credentials to help program the 168 Film Festival. So, we invite you to take advantage of the year round opportunity to volunteer with 168.

Volunteering at 168 can be a major resume-building experience.  We will be more than happy to provide prospective employers positive references for jobs well done.

168 Programmers rate the films and score them according to the judging criteria. For fairness, each film is rated by multiple programmers.  The highest scoring films advance as Official Selections to the 168 Film Festival. The best of these will be sent to our celebrity jury as Awards-Eligible films.

Programmers must have a high speed Internet connection fast enough to watch HD video online.

168 Film Festival Programmer Requirements:

• Screen up to 25 films by the deadline
• Must not be a member of a current team
• Must disclose any relationships with any current team members (this does not automatically eliminate you)
• Must sign a non-disclosure pledge and agree to secrecy (except to say that the films look great!)
• Must score objectively regarding the judging criteria
• Must complete training class

168 Event Volunteers

Volunteers are vital in organizing and managing the many events leading up to Production Week including team mixers, L.A. Casting, Verse Assignment and Turn-In Day.

Our great reputation is in large part due to our great volunteers, who come from all parts of the country and even the world to be part of this gala event. Volunteers can earn the right to attend screenings for free.  Volunteer positions include:

The 168 Office also relies on volunteers as we approach production week and the festival.  If you live near Burbank and can spare several hours per day or week, we'd be happy to talk to you about helping in the office.  Tasks include:
