168 Film Festival

The 168 Film Festival is the crown jewel of the 168 Film year, where the filmmaker is the star. It's a glitzy red carpet affair held in Los Angeles, the capitol of storytelling. Filmmakers vie for awards in over 20 categories of artistic and technical merit. The 168 Film Festival showcases the work of thousands of artists from many different countries. This year's annual gala event promises higher stakes, more stars and more excitement that ever before.

Past guest presenters include, actors Zach Levi (“Chuck,” “Tangled”), Candace Cameron Bure, “Full House,” and Stephen Baldwin ("The Usual Suspects"), Grammy Winners Rebecca St. James (singer) and Michael Lehman Boddicker (composer), producers Howard Kazanjian (“Star Wars,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark”), Ralph Winter (“X-Men Origins: Wolverine”) and writer-producer Brian Bird (“When Calls the Heart," "Touched by an Angel”), Sean McNamara director "Soul Surfer," and Sr. VP of Twentieth Century Fox TV, Gary Hall.

Festival Sponsors include household names like Sony and Panasonic as well as industry standards like Arri, Kino Flo, EIKI and AJA.

168 Film Project

Our signature speed filmmaking competition. Teams have 168 hours (7x24) to shoot and edit a short film based on a theme and a Bible verse (pre-production lasts 10 days). Tens of thousands of filmmakers have competed since 2003.

Write of Passage

In this contest, writers have 168 hours to create a 12-page screenplay based on a scripture. WP uses “Development Executives,” who mentor writers and ultimately send the best work to the finals, to be judged by Hollywood professionals. FIlmmakers may produce these stories for the 168 Film Festival.
