The 168 Create! Actor/Writer/Producer Workshop is an all-day event Saturday after Christmas.

The event features an interactive Skype session with 168 Board Member Brian Bird, Writer/Producer "When Calls the Heart," "Touched by an Angel." Brian will speak on "Producing 'Faith' in Hollywood Today. He will answer your questions, including How has the game changed? and Making Your Project Irresistible to Hollywood (via Skype).
Actors will be coached by 168 Founder/Director John David Ware to create "memorable auditions." Details below:
ABOUT BRIAN BIRD
In addition to his most recent credits on "When Calls the Heart," Brian's 30-year career in Hollywood includes writing and producing credits such as the 2013 feature film, "Captive," the true story of the 2005 Atlanta hostage crisis, currently in post-production; "Gametime" for NBC (2012), "Not Easily Broken," adapted from the novel by T.D. Jakes, for Sony/Screen Gems (2009); "The Confession" (2013) and "The Shunning" (2011) for Sony Affirm, "Saving Sarah Cain" (2008) and "The Last Sin Eater" (2007) for (20th Century Fox 2007), "Call Me Claus" (2003) for Sony, and "Bopha!" (1993) for Paramount, along with 250 episodes of network TV, including "Touched By an Angel" and "Step By Step" and "Evening Shade."
ACTOR WORKSHOP EVENT DETAILS:
Actors will practice their cold read skills using scripts from the Write of Passage Screenwriting Competition. Actors will sharpen and improve their personal pitch and style and will learn to represent themselves in a fresh, interesting way in a very short time and leave them wanting more.
These activities (cold reads, branding and image evaluation) are limited to 40 actors.

Actors should be familiar with all appropriate sides and be ready to perform any of them. Actors may signup with a friend or they will get a scene partner.
Based on the cold read portion of the program and fit for the role, selected actors will perform a table read of the award-winning script, "The Tall Grass" at the Minifest the next evening. (Sunday Dec. 28.)
Writer/Director Greg Gearlds will be on hand to select the actors for this first step in the film’s production. "The Tall Grass" is posted in it’s entirety along with sides.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Actors, Writers, Producers and anyone wanting to sharpen their image and skills and to become involved with 168 Film.
Cost: $35 (includes lunch). This class is free for 2015 producers, who are signed up for the 168 Film Project.
